One of the most important reasons for the design industry today is to make freelance design a successful business workflow and do more with less time. And in order to save time, it must be broken down into basic steps to plan your project to achieve your successful project. Thus, you improve productivity.
“Productivity is never an accident This article is aimed at newcomers to the web design industry rather than experienced designers. The main point of the article is to provide a simple 5 step guide for successful website design.
Step: Client requirements
Your client needs as much information as possible before starting your plan. The more you know, the more back and forth emails you will save.
Listen to their ideas
Usually, clients don’t tell you what they want, it’s up to you to ask them. They want the assurance that their summary will be fulfilled the way they saw it, but they have a very difficult time explaining how their future website will look. Communication is the best way to overcome this problem. It’s important to know how to ask your website design clients questions that tell you about their business, tell them the mood they’re going for, what they like and what they don’t.
Client Questionnaire
The name of my favorite method for searching about my client fills out a form. List the most important questions that will help you get started with your project. What is the purpose of this website? Who is the target audience? Who are your competitors? What steps do you want the audience to take? or 30 fields. Be sure to send your form to the client before and after you draft the proposal. If you want to see an example, you can check out this form. Because of its accessibility and ease of use, I suggest you set up your form in Google Forms.
Now that the client has completed your form, you can submit your proposal and finalize your formal agreement regarding budget, project scope, timeline, and ownership. After signing the contract, it’s time to work.
Step : Research, concept and sketch
This step is always the most difficult. When I first started in the industry, I jumped into Photoshop and started designing. I can’t stress enough how wrong it is. The best thing to do is to start with a piece of paper.
Start sketching
If you are a designer and do not have your personal notebook, you can run to your nearest library.
Take some time and start sketching any ideas that come to your mind. You don’t have to know how to draw. You can start with a circle, then your ideas will flow naturally. You can stay in your taxi on the way to work and pop a creative idea. Write it down.
Compilation of your inspiration
Create a bookmark folder with the project name. Start researching and then save any webpage you think is relevant. Be sure not to copy the correct material or ideas as this would be considered plagiarism. Search your best visited websites and layouts based on client needs and search other websites in the same business. Write down what you like and what you don’t like about them. Format, color, shape, animation … something that gives you ideas and inspiration for the next step.
Get to know your competitors
Take a good look at your competitors’ websites. Examine all local and international competitors and learn from their content. What do they all have in common? It should be included in your website. Are they missing? You can improve your website.
Step: Wireframes
Wireframes are the blueprint for your website. This is what gives your website a visual structure. Some designers have a tendency to incorporate design elements into their wireframes. This should be avoided altogether, as it will confuse the purpose of the wire frames, indicating where things go and not what things look like. Wireframes should be grayscale just to focus on the layout.
The first approach to wireframe is yes, a pen and paper. List all your elements to include on the web page.
