Project Management (PM) can be defined as the practice of planning, organizing and managing all or part of an enterprise, especially an act of creation. To the general public, when a specific project comes up, it usually means a time period of three to seven years of development that costs ten to twenty-five million dollars to implement. It is about filling up the “role”. No, it is not about fixing the problem, helping improve the situation or making life better! In a sense it sounds like tools, tools, and more tools make life better. If this is the case, then project management (PM) must be the same. You have to direct this. You have to put in a metric on improving the process. Let’s say we want to visit the ‘shore’ where the potential savings are. If the company takes the responsibility of this on the shoulders of project manager rather than a manager of other departments then they can show a Latest idea to the initiative CEO who travels with all the other managers. If the CEO thinks that this idea is good then they will approve such initiatives.
If those initiatives are added to the projects’ requirements then this is added to the agenda and the focus of the team. The most critical group we are talking about is the project manager. If this is handled right then the whole marine can take on the project if they have a good management system. It makes the CEO proud!
The task of the CEO is very complicated so the capability of the manager is considered and evaluated first before others. It is nearly impossible to develop the role of the manager in an effective way and make him a better one. But we start here.
