Many people, when they think about management, conversely think of the activity of organised human effort required to organise resources in the form of other people. Further more, in this sense, if people were to organise resources, then their achievement would depend upon the number of the available resources, for example: wages earned, time available to commence work, materials available, machinery, available facilities, all of these are finite resources.
However, management also involves planning for the future, that is, the present, the near future, the time to do and a long range plan. This is part of the study of management. Although management is considered to exist in discrete areas, it ranges across the disciplines of: finance, accounting, marketing, and personnel, for example.
The management of prince2 projects, like resources, depends upon the degree to which organisations can develop and use knowledge, skills and experience, for example, to have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to produce a prince2 project.
